Hawaii's Kilauea volcano erupts, forcing hundreds of residents to evacuate

The most active volcano on Hawaii's Big Island recently erupted, following a spate of earthquakes. Kilauea erupted late yesterday, and the state's governor declared a local state of emergency, Gizmodo reported. The County of Hawaii Civil Defense Agency said there are active volcanic vents on the Makamae and Mohala streets, and hundreds of residents have been ordered to evacuate. Related:
