Louisiana wants to divert the Mississippi River to restore its coast

Louisiana has lost over 2,000 square miles of coast in the last 100 years, according to NPR. Levees, barrier islands, and artificial marshes have been among the solutions state officials have attempted, and they now want to get the Mississippi River involved.
