For over 130 years, aluminum, a material in many Apple products, has been produced in the same dirty, greenhouse gas-releasing way. That could all change: Apple is partnering with Alcoa Corporation and Rio Tinto Aluminum to commercialize technology that, according to Apple, "eliminates direct greenhouse gas emissions from the traditional smelting process."
