First designed for Burning Man, foldable Shiftpods now shelter refugees around the world

Around 70,000 people venture to Burning Man, the arts festival in Black Rock Desert, Nevada, every year. They stay for around a week exposed to the elements of the desert, so shelter is crucial. A friend's hexayurt inspired Advanced Shelter Systems Inc. (ASSI) founder Christian Weber, who's attended for over 20 years, to design a better hexayurt that overcomes issues of some old designs, like fragility and assembly difficulty.
