Brazil meets a major emissions goal two years ahead of schedule

Brazil has just announced that its 2017 greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation have been cut way below its 2020 goal. The internationally agreed climate change target was set during the 2009 Copenhagen Accord to combat climate change and entered into effect in November 2016 through the Paris Agreement.
