Scotland to ban plastic cotton swabs - potentially cutting ocean plastic pollution in half

Scotland is set to be the first country in the United Kingdom to ban plastic-stemmed cotton swabs. Both the manufacture and sale of the polluting items - hundreds were found during a recent Gullane beach clean-up - would be banned.
