Student-designed car could cross almost the entire U.S. on one gallon of gas

Every year engineering students contend for the prize to design a super efficient vehicle in the Shell Eco-marathon Americas contest. This year a team from Université Laval snagged the award with a car that gets 2,713.1 miles per gallon of gasoline. That means a driver could travel further than the distance between Atlanta, Georgia and Seattle, Washington in the efficient little vehicle.
