'Indestructible' Arctic seed vault flooded after permafrost melts

Climate change is already reaching places on Earth once considered relatively safe: namely, the Svalbard Global Seed Vault. The vault was built inside the Arctic Circle to protect a diverse seed collection from climate change, natural disasters, or war, but was recently breached as meltwater from thawing permafrost rushed into the vault's entrance tunnel.
