Architects recycle shipping containers into a breezy Dhaka home

In Dhaka, Bangladesh, local architecture firm River & Rain transformed four shipping containers into a light-filled, three-story house spanning 134 square meters. Completed in 2017, the cargotecture dwelling doesn’t hide its shipping container roots yet manages to exude a welcoming and livable atmosphere through strategically cut openings, terraces that emphasize indoor/ outdoor living, and greenery that grows up, around and through the building.
