Valentine's Day flower deliveries come at a huge cost to the environment

Americans purchase an estimated 250 million roses for Valentine's Day every year, many of which come via flowery delivery from South America. But shipping these roses in time for the holiday comes at a heavy cost to the environment. Colombia has become a major trading center for roses because of the Andean Trade Preference Act, which was passed under President George H.W. Bush.
