Stricter climate regulations could save 150 million lives worldwide

Researchers have calculated that the enactment of stronger climate regulations across the globe could result in the prevention of up to 150 million premature deaths. Many of these deaths are caused by the same chemicals that cause the global temperature to rise. Much of the public health benefits of strictly regulating greenhouse gases would be concentrated in South Asia, with nearly 13 million lives spared in large Indian cities alone if air pollution is curtailed.
