Switzerland just opened the world's steepest funicular railway

Starting Sunday, the tiny village town of Stoos, Switzerland will claim fame as home of the steepest funicular railway in the world. The funicular will move from a station in Schwyz-Schlattli valley, scaling 1,300 meters (4,265 feet) of mountain along a 1,720-meter track, climbing or descending 743 meters (2438 feet) along slopes as steep as 110% (47.7º).
