New giant octopus species discovered near Alaska

You wouldn't expect humans to have missed a whole species of giant octopus - but researchers recently revealed that's exactly what we did. The giant Pacific octopus, which is the biggest octopus we know about on the planet, is in reality two species. Alaska Pacific University undergraduate student Nathan Hollenbeck led research to discover what the team is calling the frilled giant octopus.
