The Netherlands' legendary 20-mile long Afsluitdijk dike has been in use for 85 years. When the Dutch government decided it needed a renovation, they turned to designer Daan Roosegaarde. Studio Roosegaarde recently unveiled their Icoon Afsluitdijk project featuring three eye-catching designs: Gates of Light, Windvogel, and Glowing Nature, with features from clean power-generating kites to live bioluminescent algae.
