Singapore is banning all new private vehicles from its roads

The government of Singapore, one of the densest countries in the world, has announced that the number of private cars on its roads will be frozen next year, even as the number of vehicles used for public transit are expected to increase. The rate of growth for all passenger cars and motorcycles will be decreased from the current .25% per year to effectively zero percent starting in February 2018.
