California approves rule to require solar panels on new houses

The California Building Standards Commission has given their final approval to a new housing rule that is the first of its kind in the United States. Starting in 2020, the commission is requiring that all new homes built in the state have solar panels. "These provisions really are historic and will be a beacon of light for the rest of the country," said commissioner Kent Sasaki.
