For the first time, climate change has caused a river to completely reroute

For the first time in on record, a river has completely been re-routed thanks to climate change. A river in Canada's Yukon territory shifted from draining through the Yukon's largest lake and into the Bering Sea to draining into the Pacific Ocean below Alaska, in a shift that researchers called “geologically instantaneous."
