Researchers close in on world's first 100% self-charging lithium-ion battery

We've all experienced that moment of needing information from a dying phone or computer right as an outlet is nowhere in sight. An international team of scientists led by McGill University in Canada could help make that a worry of the past with their new research. They've just come closer to a battery that harvests and stores light all on its own - without the help of solar panels.
