This prefab floating house in Amsterdam was inspired by Japanese tatami rooms

Traditional Japanese tatami rooms inspired the design of this prefab floating house in Amsterdam. Architect Julius Taminiau used this approach to create a home for himself and his family and introduced various space-saving features to make it comfortable and practical. The floating house replaces an old boat that previously occupied the sport.
