Here at Inhabitat, we've been eating banana peels for years. But researchers in Japan developed a new type of banana that comes with a peel thin enough to eat along with the fruit, per Quartz. Using freeze thaw awakening production, they created the Mongee Banana, with an edible peel, that goes for $6 per piece of fruit.
