The oceans are heating up. Last year was the hottest year we've recorded for the world ocean, according to an ocean analysis from two scientists at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The increase in ocean heat led to 1.7 millimeter sea global level rise - and other consequences like "declining ocean oxygen, bleaching of coral reefs, and melting sea ice and ice shelves." Related:
