When a bowhead whale washed ashore at Wrangel Island in Russia, the polar bears were ready. They gathered to eat the carcass, and tourists captured the experience on camera. Estimates put the number of polar bears between 150 and 230. As there are around 20,000 to 25,000 of the animals on Earth, almost one percent of the world's polar bears, according to Gizmodo, could have assembled for the feast. Related:
