The Bloodhound supersonic car wowed an audience of 3,500 at its first public run at the Cornwall Airport Newquay recently. In its successful test, in just eight seconds the car hit speeds of 210 miles per hour (mph) from a standing start. The team's ultimate goal is to reach 1,000 mph and break the World Land Speed Record. Related:
