Astronomers discovered the exoplanet WASP-12b in 2008, and since then it's become one of the exoplanets we've best studied. But a recent discovery - that the planet reflects almost no light - could change what we had guessed about WASP-12b's atmosphere. Lead author Taylor Bell, a master's student at McGill University, described the exoplanet as darker than fresh asphalt. Related:
