- More than 170 nations attended the signing ceremony of the Paris Climate Agreement at the UN. For the Agreement to enter into full force, at least 55 nations comprising 55% of man-made greenhouse gas emissions must ratify it. [Forests News, Center for International Forestry Research]
- There’s some great news out of the Energy Information Administration: carbon dioxide emissions from the electricity sector – our country’s largest source of the pollution that’s driving climate change – fell significantly in 2015, to their lowest levels since 1993. - The United States solar sector has apparently now installed over 1 million installations across the country, according to the Solar Energy Industries Association. “It took us 40 years to get to 1 million installations, and it will take us only two years to get to 2 million,” a spokesman said.
