Waste heat could be a valuable source of energy, and now two Duke University researchers have created a thermophotovoltaic device that could harvest that waste heat. The device's solar cells capture infrared wavelengths, and could allow us harvest heat near furnaces or use the heat coming from a car engine to charge the car's battery. Related:
